Thomas Ligotti (incredible horror author) wrote an episode of Xfiles called Crampton. Its bleak and weird and would have made a great episode. The script is available and i heartily recommend anyone who likes horror literature or Xfiles to read it.

read? I used to write sooo much x-fils fanfic in the nineties, and i even wrote a fanseason 10: it was so much fun.
The best i read were in french, because i’m french, and were posted by the members of the LVEI x-philes message board. I stopped reading them in 2003 i think.
I mainly remember one about santa claus, which was a cchristmas spoof, but still trated the whole mythos of santa as an x-file (including the postal service’s government conspiracy to hide the truth about Santa). Spoiler alert: santa was related to toomes, and had a similar genetic mutation that allowed him to squeeze through chimneys.

Bloody loved The Boy on the Beach. Tremendous angsty MSR set in an alternative universe around season 6/7. I was rather dubious about the concept, until it hooked my right in.

I second The Boy on the Beach – it’s fantastic. The same author, Cecily Sasserbaum, recently wrote a new fic called Pause which I highly recommend, as well.

I can’t remember the names of specific works, but fragilevixen is a very good fanfic writer. She tends to do longer works.
And, of course, syntax6 has great works.
If you like smut, Mine by lepusarcticus. I don’t like most smut, but this one is excellent.

Ok this makes me feel very un tech savvy but how do you guys save fanfics on your phones/tablets? I’ve tried using the Files program (iPhone) but it never saves my place, it would be amazing if there was something more like an e reader app

If anyone here is uncomfortable with reading very graphic or sexual fic, here are some great ones that are not too detailed in that sense.
Julie Fortune – Best Lies (original story. I think Fortune was revealed to be a pen name of a professional writer later on).
Maria Nicole – Bridge (sequel to Folie A Deu).

Penumbra is gifted, and you can tell she reads tonnes of classical literature. Her references and humour are delightful.

Jeez I haven’t thought about X-File fanfic in awhile. Not gonna lie, I had a bad addiction to the X-Files fanfic for awhile…which looking back is an odd thing to be addicted to lol. It’s been 10 some years since I read fanfic but I saved some of my favorites.

This LONG fic is hands down my all time favorite: He is the Master of His Fate, She is the Captain of Her Soul this writer blows me away. I read this fic at least once a year. Synopsis “Story begins during the final events of “The Sixth Extinction II: Amor Fati.” It then chronicles a canon-compliant progression of Mulder and Scully’s relationship throughout Season 7, including the beginning of their love affair, and on through Seasons 8 & 9. The story will conclude post-IWTB, and may or may not incorporate Season 10 & 11 storylines.”
Here are my bookmarks I save any fic I would want to go back and read again.
Another fav of mine right now is Snowcats and Sleeping Bags and it’s companion piece Nuts in Florida which explore the “what if” M&S had sex during/after their trip to Antarctica.

Current favorite fic is the one I’ve yet to find the time to write, but it revolves around Mulder and Scully circa 1997, after the The X Files have been shut down because of some government BS as per usual. Right when they’re at a loss of what to do, Mulder gets the call he’s been waiting his whole life for: a young woman claiming to be his sister has walked into a Massachusetts hospital. Mulder reunites with Samantha, now 25, and she tells him all about how she was raised by the Cigarette Smoking Man on April Air Force Base until she escaped, and how she was abducted by aliens several times over the years, but found someone to help her get through the experiments. His name is Max Fenig, and once Samantha realizes Mulder and Scully know him too, she insists upon going on a cross-country trek to track him down.
(Yes this fic is solely an excuse for me to sail the Max/Samantha ship, upon which I am fairly certain I am the only passenger 😂)

Hey, I appreciate it! I can’t imagine the Krycek/Skinner ship is a common one, although I do see the appeal. Nicholas Lea is so hot he could be shipped with anyone, and Mitch Pileggi ain’t half bad either.
