2023 sports calendar: Complete schedule of this year’s key sporting events from the Ashes to Women’s World Cup
The sporting world is hoping for 12 months of Covid-free normality as world cups take place in women’s football and men’s cricket and rugby

May 11, 2023 2:59 pm
Almost everybody involved in sport hopes that 2023 will be more like 2019, when phrases like “lateral flow” and “social distancing” meant almost nothing to us.
As an odd-numbered year, it means we have no Olympics, men’s World Cup or European Championship, which often opens the door for some of the slightly more fringe sports to come to the fore.
Indeed, we have a women’s football World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, a men’s Cricket World Cup in India, a men’s Rugby World Cup in France and a whole host of other global tournaments in the calendar, from the Ryder Cup to an Ashes series and all the usual in tennis, motorsport, cycling and more… we might even get to see some good fights in boxing.
Here is a comprehensive list of everything that is scheduled in the sporting world for 2023.
