Coffee day 2022 more to come as the week goes on…

Volunteers preparing and blowing paper in the community centre for coffee day lorries on Sunday

Well, not long now until the Annual Croston Coffee Day Procession and family fun day – Saturday 2nd July from 11.30 onwards.
We are a small community group who work hard voluntarily to make this event a success for all who attend and we are very excited about making this year the best one yet. With us not having been able to run the event for the last two years due to the pandemic we want to make it even more special this year.
We are reaching out to our community for some volunteers to help on the day, just an hour of your time would be amazing and will go along way to helping us to run the event on the day and to keep this family community event running for years to come.
Volunteers Needed as follows:
Holding the Church Banner Marshalls 12 strong people in total (12-2pm) for the procession.
Road Mashall’s
Procession Marshall’s
Fairground Marshall’s
Also if anyone can volunteer their cake making skills, that would be delicious
We genuinely would be over the moon if anyone can spare just an hour of their time on the day leaving you enough time to enjoy the day with your own families too.
Please send your details to

Thank you in advance and please get in touch as soon as you can.
Many thanks

Croston Coffee Day stretches back to the early 1800’s and there are many stories told about the origins. One story is that all those who took part in the procession, that brought together the three faiths, were rewarded with coffee and a bun when the walk was over. The second story is that this was an Old English event when the local tenants and freemen paid their dues to the Squire or landowner.
